These pans revolutionized many kitchens. Where else can you find a pan that is scratch-free, nonstick, and oh-so-appealing? For many people, they had never had a pan quite like a red copper pan.
Still, since this commercial aired there have been many different types of red copper pans come onto the market. To find the best pan, you will want to review all of the options based on the following features.
Copper Type & Thickness
One of the most important things to consider about all copper pans is the type of copper they are made of and what thickness it has been made in.
The most valuable type of copper fry pan will be made of copper or at least have a whole layer of copper on the outermost layer for quick, even heat transmission. This is what gives copper pans their best cooking abilities.
In the old days, 3.2mm (or ⅛ inch) was thought to be the optimum thickness for copper pans. Nowadays, it’s been shown that pans that are 2.5mm thickness are the best ones around. They heat up and cool evenly, leading to a better cooking experience. Plus, they don’t weigh as much!
It is best to look for a pan that has 2.5mm thickness and is made of real copper. If you are looking to save money, cookware that has at least a 2mm thickness will work for most chefs as well, but it will not offer the same heat retention or durability that 2.5mm thickness will provide.

Among these options, I recommend using stainless steel lined copper pans. The outside of your copper pan will already need some polishing and care to look nice. If you choose a pan with stainless steel lining, you won’t need to worry about taking care of the inside as much as you would if you chose tin lining.
Using Your Red Copper Pan
When cooking with a red copper pan, it is important to make sure you start with low heat and limit yourself to cooking between low and medium heat. Because this type of pan heats up quickly and evenly, it can run hotter than other pans you own.
The best way to cook with it is to go slow and steady with the heat. You will not need as much heat as you do when cooking with less efficient pans, so keep that in mind.

The key to using this and other copper pans is to cook them at a lower temperature with little or no oil! If you heat this pan up too much, everything will begin to stick because hot spots will form, so remember that while you are cooking with it.
2. Cooksmark Copper Pan 10-Inch Nonstick Induction
The next red copper pan worth checking out is the Cooksmark Copper Pan 10-Inch Nonstick Induction Compatible Frying Pan. I love this pan because it is specifically made to be able to work with induction stove tops, which are one of my current favorite appliances.
This pan has a stainless steel handle, which can be hard to grip, but it is dual-riveted. This makes for an easy gripping surface that won’t become a danger while you are cooking with it. The bottom induction plate is also made of durable, easy-to-clean stainless steel.

The final pan in my red copper pan reviews today is the Gotham Steel Ceramic and Titanium Nonstick Fry Pan, Brown, 10.25". I really like this pan because it is very well balanced and very light weight. Some pans feel too heavy or too late depending on the handle, but this pan feels even in your hand.
This small pan is great because it will cook food very easy without sticking, and it doesn’t take much effort. You simply add what you want to cook and get to work! You don’t need any oil or cooking spray to get your food cooked.
This pan will need to be seasoned every few months to keep up its nonstick capabilities, but this is very simple to do with this type of high-quality pan.
